A quick way to make a slideshow

As you can see in our speech list section we sometimes hold public speeches. It usually means that we’re late at preparing our slideshows so I ended up looking for a tool that allows me to work on my presentation till the last available minute.
I found this nice xul application (hope you speak japanese) that is based on the Takahashi method. I don’t know if you like this method, I just love those huge characters.
We borrowed and patched the original XUL to make it a little nicer. We introduced:- An english translation for the help slideshow.
- Faded background images.
- Company logo support.
- Japanese fonts cleanup.
- A nicer fontset.
- Full screen images support.
You can download the whole package here or use your svn client and connect to svn://svn.seesaw.it/slideshow. To get a glimpse of how it looks like you can browse this online version.
Here just a few pros…
- It’s lightning fast!
- It’s pretty cool
- Focuses on contents and not graphic details
- You can run it in full-screen mode and make presentations in every machine with mozilla/firefox
...and cons…
- Works only in Firefox
- You cannot add notes
- Cannot save the slideshow in pdf
- Cannot draw complex graphic (just images)
Even if this is not the ultimate tool for your slideshows, could be useful in some cases.
